Nested within Melbourne’s western growth corridor close to growing Melton and Rockbank, Cobblebank is an up-and-coming new region luring thousands of residents.

“The Melton/Cobblebank precinct is becoming increasingly popular due to the very limited availability of land and buildings within the traditional metro areas of Laverton North, Derrimut and Truganina,” Andrew Macqueen said.

“Within the Ferris Rd precinct there are at least two industrial estates coming online with pre-lease opportunities available from 5000-20,000 square metres,” he added.

“Rents are expected to be approximately 15 per cent lower than Truganina…c$85 per sqm for a 10,000 sqm space, as opposed to $100-$110 per sqm” according to the executive.

“This is an important consideration for large businesses managing their overheads”.

The new Cobblebank Stadium is a multi-purpose community facility to respond to the growing need for additional indoor courts within Melton Township.  The new indoor stadium will increase community participation and provide greater access for a range of sports including basketball, netball, badminton, table tennis, volleyball, futsal, school curriculum and community health and wellness programs. $31m has been invested into the state-of-the-art building.

Council has developed the draft Cobblebank Metropolitan Activity Centre and Cobblebank Employment and Mixed Use Area Urban Design Framework (formerly known as the Toolern Metropolitan Activity Centre and Employment and Mixed Use Urban Design Frameworks).

Located in Cobblebank, the Town Centre will serve the region as the main hub for shopping, services, food and entertainment. The future employment area, directly north of the town centre, provides land for office, warehousing, big box retail and light industry to facilitate local job creation.

The new station at Cobblebank is now open as part of the VLINE Upgrade to the Ballarate Line

Cobblebank Station is a modern and accessible station built in the suburb’s future centre.

This station helps to cater for the growing population of Melbourne’s outer west and takes pressure off Melton Station.
